The age-old pesky U.S.-Mexico border problem has taxed the resources of both countries, led to long lists of injustices, and appears to be heading only for worse troubles in the future. Guess what? The border problem can never be solved. Why? Because the border IS the problem! It's time for a paradigm change.

Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.

Greetings,

Thought you would like to know that we've just launched a brand new version of Capitol Words.

Here is the link: http://capitolwords.org/.

Capitol Words now has more information you can see what the most said words are over the period of a year, the whole Congress, month, and even day.You can also see what words a lawmaker is saying the most. These improvements give users an at-glance view and better understanding of what is happening in the halls of Congress.

I hope you find the new Capitol Words more useful. Feel free to contact me.

Thanks for your support,

Why does it have to be about hate? Do you think some of those Senators could have opposed the bill because it also contained 2 other pieces of sketchy legislation? Section 18 of the Auto Bailout, which dealt with the “Guarantee of Leases of Qualified Transportation Property”. That sounds like something that would be in the Auto Bailout Bill, right? Negative, that is a section, which allows the banks that were making shady tax deferment deals, with the bus and rail companies to re-coup their losses. Basically, the Bus and Rail companies in an effort to secure more capitol for “other ventures” made a deal with some lending institutions. The lending institutions would buy their real property (like rail cars) and lease them back to the Rail and Bus companies at a discounted rate. The companies would get their capitol while the lending institution would get major tax breaks on the depreciation of the real property. Everyone gets to swindle the taxpayers… yet again!

Now this probably would have worked without the fact that we have a credit crisis. With this tiny 5-paragraph insert, the lending institutions could get their money from the government for any bad loans that are outstanding on those leases. So, let me get this straight, you want to try and swindle us, and then when it goes badly, you want us to pay for your mistake. Thank you Senators for not allowing that, because obviously the Representatives (their name makes me laugh every time I say it!) thought that was OK.

If all of this is not enough, there is also a nice section at the end (19) which is unassumingly titled “Coordination with Other Laws” that allows for a cost of living adjustment (Why don’t they call it an increase? Have you ever seen a negative cost of living “adjustment”?) for Justices and Judges. Now why would that be in there? Could it be because if the legislation were ever challenged, the ones who would have to overturn it would be overturning a raise for themselves as well? I don’t see anything wrong with that, do you?
The Southern Senators in some cases may have been protecting the interests of their charges, after all, they do Represent their state. Should they have voted to support Michigan because those are the people who will re-elect them?
We are a union household and we did not support this legislation because it is a bad piece of legislation. You only heard what our liberal media wanted you to hear about that bill. It is about time the Congress started listening to what the voters actually wanted since this bill was opposed by a majority of Americans.

Bless Susan! Although, I'm not a conservative, the "religious base", is covered in bigotry. Although, I'm a christian, I don't believe that religion and politcs go hand in hand. I'm considered a RINO, because I stand for Lincoln's principals. If Lincoln's principals where never what our party stood for, then I would not be a republican. I'm not going to run away from the conservatives, just so they can have a radical right agenda. Republicans need to go back into the middle.

Hello Enzo and thanks for stopping by.

To begin, individual beliefs, if that's what you are referring to by "religious" are individual beliefs. If this is your religious belief, then it belongs in your church, NOT in government. In this United States we have traditionally, or are supposed to have, separation of church and state.

You mention gay folks are "different". The last I understood, they are people and citizens of the United States too. You know, the place where there are equal rights for all....

When folks start discriminating against a particular group, then they open up the way for themselves to be discriminated against. For instance, I don't particularly care for some LDS folks, I think it is rude that they enter my property to tell me of their religion, one time breaking my entry gate, and they typically have very large families (10 or more children) at a time when each individual takes up enormous resources from our environment. On this last issue, this could be a real concern that DOES impact other citizens. Would you agree that we need to ban those folks that believe in large families from having more than two, and make this an amendment to the Constitution? Clearly this later point affects us all more than two same sex folks getting married. With respect to same sex couples, what do I care!

What I do care about is, that when we choose to be hateful and prejudiced against one minority group, we pave the way for hate and prejudice against others, and the others could be you!

Clearly, this issue is a distraction issue in government at this time. We certainly have a lot bigger fish to fry. To me, your comments display your bigotry and ignorance. Personally, I don't much care for ignorant folks, perhaps we should make a Constitutional amendment from you opening your mouth until you can display an IQ level above 100.

I hope I've proven my point.

Remember to Vote NO on 8.

Next time you could be posting to ask for everyone else's help for either you or a family member that you love, and you will want to ensure that folks are there to help you too.

I am going to vote Yes for Prop 8 no matter what any poll predicts. I don't have anything against gay and lesbians, it is their lifestyle. But you have to admit that they are a minority of population and honesltly they are different than the straight people.
So why should the majority give in and change the centuries old instituation and definition of marriage only because some very minor part or popultion wants so. I would even probably consider it as a personal insult. And it is definetely an insult and vulgarization of marriage for most of religios people, for whom the marriage has sacred meaning as well. So why don't anybody want to protect the feeling of religous people, for example, ah?, the majority of which do support the definition of marriage as a union of man and women only. It's been like this for centuries! Are we in postion to change that? Let's come up with a new institution specially intended for gay and lesbians couples whith equal social
regulation as traditonal marriage but call it something different.

The long term goal behind the legalization of same-sex marrigae is very obvious - it is to acustom the soceity the idea that they are normal as everybody else. But in fact they are not!
I am not saying this with any negative sense, I am simply admitting the obvious - they, and their life style is not traditional and different!

The Republiklan party likes to terrorize independent voters with spurious lies about Obama at 8 years old but McCAIN hires people who have worked for a terrorist, Saddam Hussein.

Cheney attended Yale University, but he flunked out. Cheney was twice prosecuted for and convicted of drunk driving. Cheney lied to former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey about the grounds for going to war in Iraq. Cheney is a pathological liar. Cheney is incompetent. Cheney would like to think that he is above the law. However, Cheney must pay for crimes against the United States and the world.

EVERYONE I know is waiting for this debate. It's has nothing to do with determining which candidate best represents our views, but rather eager for a good chuckle over the next ridiculous remark she'll come up with.

I guess we all need a good laugh after this bail out calamity.

I saw that tax break in there too. I don't think that was made general knowledge in any of the speeches. I think they are hoping that we don't notice. Of course, is they don't read the whole thing, they imagine we don't either.

I oppose the bailout bill. I was not given any preferred treatment when I worked for companies like WACHOVIA. Wall street should be treated the same way.
