Kucinich prevailed after Republicans pull out all the stops to end his seat in Congress

Last week 10,000 Republican voters were mobilized to “Dump Dennis” and failed. Headed by Rush Limbaugh and assisted by the Cleveland “Plain Dealer”. Kucinich still won. Makes you think about what was done to him during his presidential bid.

Update on the Dennis Kucinich Campaign – Final Push to Donate

One week left to help Kucinich keep his seat. We need this Congressman’s voice in our government. View his message and donate.

Kucinich constituents speak out:

This is what Joe Cimperman is trying to say:

Cimperman has presented other commercials that don’t actually provide a true reflection of Kucinich’s history. For instance, Cimperman remarks that Kucinich has missed 300+, when in fact Kucinich has missed 139. Previous to this past year, Kucinich had one of the best attendance record’s in Congress. The rest of the presidential candidates have missed up to 300 votes, John McCain being one of the worst. From the looks of Cimperman’s ads, he doesn’t appear to be a politician that presents the truth to the public. We certainly don’t need any more of those in Congress.

MSNBC Presidential Debate Disclaimer – “For Entertainment Purposes Only”

That’s my take on this situation. The Nevada court ruled MSNBC can exclude any candidate they wish. So they excluded Dennis Kucinich. It’s their right. They have First Amendment rights, fine. But then there should be a banner across the bottom of the screen clearly indicating “For Entertainment Purpose Only. Please see …… for the actual candidates running for president”. This isn’t real news and shouldn’t be offered up as such. This is more “false advertising”. The term “news” suggests something more objective.

In fact, why have any candidates do debates at all? They should just choose actors/actresses for all the fun and really drum up the ratings.

Strong election reform is needed in this country. These recent weeks have further proved that.

After 8 years, we are still using the same election machinery that was previously found flawed and subject to tampering. Would we still keep calling the same plumber back after it was clear they couldn’t un-stuff the toilet? Would we keep doing it after 8 years?! This doesn’t even address issues of “running out of ballots”. Has the IRS ever run out of paper for threatening letters?

Candidates have to say “I approve this message”, how silly. What’s that all about? Yet the media doesn’t have the same duty to disclose what they are doing. I guess they have rights. But where are the rights of the American people? Where are we to go to see the candidates debate and consider what each has to say? Does the government provide for that?

Candidates must have gobs of money to get anywhere. Corporations with singular interests come to their “aid” and expect favors from their “willing” candidate. It appears corporations can get good representation in this process, but forget about the average citizen. As long as corporate power is behind is behind elections, there is no chance for democracy in America. We lost it long ago.

What kind of “democracy” are we trying to support in Iraq? Will that be something better than we have here in America?

Oh…..And “I approve this message”

Nevada Democratic Debate Will Include Dennis Kucinich

NBC is appealing for an immediate hearing.  This is a good bird’s eye view in how mainstream media censors the information we receive.  I have enjoyed watching Keith Olbermann each night, and thought he was a strong voice in the mostly “entertainment” world of mainstream news.  Tonight he was silent.

Breaking News: Judge says MSNBC debate
must include Kucinich

-from the Los Angeles Times:

A judge in Nevada has just ordered MSNBC to include Rep. Dennis Kucinich in Tuesday’s Democratic Party presidential debate in Las Vegas or he will cancel the forum.

Senior Clark County District Court Judge Charles Thompson vowed to issue an injunction halting the nationally televised debate if MSNBC failed to comply. Kucinich had filed a lawsuit seeking to be included just this morning.

The judge ruled it was a matter of fairness and Nevada voters would benefit from hearing from more than just Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama. Kucinich had been invited to participate in the 6 p.m. Pacific debate Tuesday, but that invitation was rescinded last week … So set up a fourth podium.

Andrew Malcolm, correspondent – The Los Angeles Times

While I applaud this courageous judge that certainly has the nation’s interest at heart, I have my fingers crossed that GE – NBC won’t squash it will appeals and ongoing barriers. Court filing in Nevada

ge-logo.jpgGE Corporate Logo “Imagination At Work” – well they certainly got that right. Their business involves finance, aviation, defense, infrastructure to “developing” nations, electronics, and of course, NBC.

The fact that a presidential candidate is being censored from participation in a national debate at the beginning of the primaries by a national media corporation should be cause for many folks to consider liquidating any stocks or investments. GE is a big financial investment corporation, investors should consider taking a stand against such censorship in this nation. This corporation certainly does not serve this nation well with respect to their censoring issues important to the American people.
